Help protect and steward Washington’s special public lands for people, wildlife, communities, and future generations.
“We’ve appreciated working
with the Stewards of
Washington State Lands
while pursuing funding for
our South Lake Ozette Trust
Land Transfer application.
Their work is important to
ensure land conservation
across the state continues
for future generations.”
There is a role for everyone
Washington’s public lands provide clean air and water, wildlife habitat, recreation opportunities, and lasting economic and community benefits. Stewards of Washington State Lands works with communities, Tribes, conservation organizations, businesses, elected leaders, public agencies, and volunteers to protect and care for ecologically and socially valuable state lands.
Whether you want to support Trust Land Transfer, identify important lands in your community, help tell a conservation story, make a donation, or connect your organization to the statewide coalition, we would love to hear from you.

Share a project idea
Do you know of state trust land in your community that may be important for conservation, recreation, habitat, cultural values, public access, or long-term stewardship? Tell us about it.
Talk with decision-makers
Public support matters. Stewards helps communities and partners communicate why land conservation and smart trust land management are important for Washington’s future.
Share stories, photos, and local knowledge
Stewards wants to help tell the stories of the lands people cherish and the communities that care for them. If you have photos, local history, stewardship stories, or ideas for a conservation story, we would welcome your input.
